Lindsey Porter

Yoga & Well-being Advocate 

Lindsey is passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga and wellbeing practices for all minds and bodies. She has been teaching yoga since 2006 after studying Yoga in India and supporting others on their journey to teaching yoga as a Tutor on the Yoga Scotland Foundation course since 2018. She has undertaken yoga studies in: Akhanda Hatha yoga, Anatomy & Physiology, Yin Yoga, Yoga for special needs, Face Yoga, Curvy Yoga and Meditation. As She is also a qualified and experienced NLP Practitioner, Reiki Master and Holistic therapist. Prior to this Lindsey spent over 20 years as a Project Manager working in Financial Services for various banks around the world. Based in Falkirk where she lives with her family, she is a SEN parent.

In 2018 she organised and lead a Scottish Parliamentary Reception talking to MSPs and the Minister for Mental Health about the benefits yoga can bring to mental health and wellbeing.  She is a signatory of the Mental Health Charter for Physical Activity & Sport and champions the yoga community to participate to help break down barriers for people with mental health challenges to participate in activity such as yoga. She has raised over £2,500 for SAMH (the Scottish Association for Mental Health charity).


She is co-founder and producer of an international podcast series ‘Voices of Yoga’ sharing stories of inspiration from yogis around the world.

Lindsey is a writer and published author (Whirlpools, yoga and the balance of life 2018 and Forgiveness is the Hardest thing 2022) She was awarded the “WOMAN OF INSPIRATION AWARD” in the 2019 honour list by the Association of Scottish Business Women. She was a finalist in the 2020/2021 Scottish Wellbeing Awards. She was Vice Chair and Board Director for her community Third Sector Interface organisation for 6 years.
